St. Savoir

View of the Cathedral. As Ned mentions it is hard to get far enough back to get a great picture - this one is three pics stitched together.

St. Savior

Laura in the babtistry - nobody digging around, but how cool is the lighting...

The Cloister

You can just make out Ysabel hiding behind a pillar on the left.

The Cloister

Laura meets Ysabel (but doesn't know it yet...)

Ysabel

La Tour Cesar

Laura climbing toward the tower. I think we came up the opposite way as Ned.

La Tour

20 weeks pregnant and still exploring!

Aix-en-Provence

A beautiful view of the city from the road down from the tower. Thunder starting to roll in and complete the setting...

Entremont

Not as mysterious by day, but we got locked out the night before instead of locked in!

Mont Saint Victoire

And in the foreground you can make out the Tower...

Entremont- Tower - Mont St. Victoire

Taken from the southwest entrance to entremont I couldn't resist trying to put all three in the same picture.

Les Baux

Overlooking the road - just before it goes into the Valley of Hell...

Les Baux

View from the Road...No bodies flying today (at least not here)

Glanum

Another beautiful location on a magnificent day.

Glanum

No Cadell, but the water is still dirty (-:

Alyscamps

On the way into the spooky place the wife insisted I get in a picture.

Alyscamps

To add to the spookiness here a white dove flew up out of the mass grave right over our heads as we walked towards the pigeon infested ruins.

Alyscmaps

Ysabel's overnight lockout?

Alyscamps

I think Dave jumped the fence right about here so can't put the book down...

Alyscamps

Dave's view before entering the fray...

Villa Gallici

Laura reading Ysabel by the pool of Villa Gallici (our Sans Souci (-: ). Tomorrow she finishes the last 40 pages at the top of St. Victoire.

St. Victoire - The Ascent

Laura and our 20 week old baby made it halfway up before the doctor's heart rate limit mandated she finish the story on the slopes of St. Victoire - I had the pleasure of reliving my cross country days (go Williams College) and further immersing myself in Neds shoes with a run up the slopes to the top.

St. Vicoitre - The Chapel

Upon finishing the switchbacks you are welcomed by this courtyard exactly as described by Ned.

St. Victoire - The Chapel

The last few steps from the switchbacks...

St. Victoire - The Garagai

Well hidden - I almost walked right underneath the entrance to this cave. Good thing I had read about it (-:

St. Victoire - The Garagai

Looking down into the cave. Being alone and hearing what sounded like a mad hornets nest at the bottom I only got about halfway down into the cave for the next shot.

St. Victoire - The Garagai

Looking out from the cave into the nothingness that defined Phelan and Cadell's final moments (at least for now...)

St. Victoire - The Garagai

A view of what the mountain looks like underneath the opening of the cave.

St. Victoire - The Chapel

Climbing down from the garagai...

St. Victoire - The Chapel

The quaint little hut where Melanie and Ned took shelter - there were even some roll away pads in cubbies just in case a straggler should chance by...

St. Victoire

From the top looking north you get a good look at what Ned came up. This picture is taken looking out from about where the cave/garagai is.
